The symbiote of Venom originated on the planet Klyntar. However once it made its way to Earth-616 it merged with a slew of heroes and villains. Starting out as a hero, merging with Deadpool, then Spider-Man, it eventually descended to villainy. Merging with and taking over Eddie Brock to become Venom. It didn’t stop there – to date, Venom has bonded with at least 18 hosts, possibly more.
